19. Sebastian Pinera – $2.4 billion
It’s never easy making a move from private to public sector.
Ho ahead and ask Sebastian Pinera, the man who served as President of Chile between 2010 and 2014. Pinera had to give up all of his shares, a move that turned into a bureaucratic nightmare and sent shockwaves on the Santiago Stock Exchange.
Pinera’s term was marked by a string of misfortunate events (including the 2010 Chile earthquake) that made people say we brought bad luck to the country.
The 67-year-old also attracted negative publicity following a defamatory statement that would make even Trump blush – “when a lady says “no” it means maybe when she says maybe it means yes and when she says yes she is not a lady.”
