22. Meg Whitman – $2.9 billion
A fortune of $2.9 billion makes Meg Whitman the wealthiest woman involved in American politics.
Credited with the biggest odds of becoming the first female president in history, Whitman narrowly lost the 2010 race to become the Governor of California. Although a Republican, Whitman chose to support Clinton throughout the campaign and was not shy to demonize Trump by comparing him to Hitler and Mussolini.
The 61-year-old made most of her fortune by working as a top-level executive in companies like eBay. She is currently the President and CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Whitman doesn’t care she was named the “Most Underachieving CEO” by Bloomberg. Money keeps pilling in her bank account like there’s no tomorrow.
